Aquavent Pipework Protection Valve
Successfully removes the cause of hydraulic shock by breaking the vacuum on boosted water systems.
The Aquavent is our highly effective hydraulic shock prevention device. It successfully removes the cause of hydraulic shock, by breaking the vacuum. Solving the problem for you. We strongly recommend that an Aquavent is fitted on every boosted system, where the distance between the highest and lowest pipework in a building is greater than 10.2 metres. We have designed one size which is adequate for all boosted water systems.
Hydraulic shock
Hydraulic Shock is a shock wave, produced when water hits the top of boosted riser system that has been partially or completely emptied. The rapid change in velocity causes a shockwave to travel away from the impact point and back towards the booster set. When it reaches the booster, it bounces and returns at the speed of sound in water (2900 mph) with localized pressures exceeding 200 Bar. It is this secondary shock that does the damage.
Hydraulic Shock can only occur when a vacuum has been allowed to form that the top of the riser. The most common causes for this are: power or water failure causing the booster to stop, somebody closing a valve isolating a riser or the demand beats the booster set causing the pressure to drop and the water to fall away from the top of the riser.
The Aquavent prevents the vacuum from occurring by admitting air and controlling air release during the refill process to cushion the refill process. It is fully mechanical and fully automatic, and therefore is always able to function giving you peace of mind.
Like all our products the Aquavent is built to last and designed to be easily fitted and accessed for service and maintenance.
It is especially effective at preventing leaks on top floors which are always the most expensive to repair, saving you time, energy and money.
- Space saving
- Engages promptly
- Problem solving, highly effective in breaking the vacuum
- Reliable
- Minimal service requirements/ Easily serviceable
- Prevents leaks on the top floors which are usually the most expensive
- Easy access for installation and servicing
- Each Aquavent is tested rigorously on our proprietary test rig
- Peace of mind for the consultant and the installer
Full 24/7 warranty for 2 years

To work correctly, the Aquavent needs to be installed at the upper most point in the system because this is also the point of lowest pressure where the vacuum will form. Where site conditions do not permit the Aquavent to be installed on the top of the riser, it can be installed up-to 3 metres down from the top. It is supplied ready to install.
Servicing
We recommended that Aquavent are serviced annually to ensure that the internal strainers are clean and to ensure they are in full working order. Servicing during system commissioning is also recommended as it is not uncommon to find debris from the system installation has collected in the valve. They are easy to access for servicing.
