5th July 2022
Having graduated with a BEng Hons Degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Hertfordshire Stuart joined Aquatech Pressmain as a Design Development Engineer through hard work and a broad skill set progressing to Development Manager, Product Development then IT and Communications Manager and currently Product Development Manager.
As Product Development Manager his role covers managing the product development team, prioritising jobs and ensuring the team designs the best possible products, which are then assembled and tested overseen by Stuart. He also manages the design process, keeping records, ensuring compliance with our ISO9001 quality system and inspecting suppliers’ quality alongside CE and UKCA compliance, through a combination of testing and checking against standards.
Stuart is also involved with the factory manufacturing preparing all bills of material and required drawings and assisting the team with production methods.
Alongside this Stuart is responsible for sales engineering data on all current Aquatech Pressmain products; fulfilling BIM model and drawing requests, writing O&M manuals and developing control system software.
When Aquatech Pressmain takes on larger bespoke projects Stuart visits the customers premises to gather data allowing us to produce a bespoke product to suit their requirements. He also produces the mechanical and electrical designs of custom products for specific applications.
Due to his knowledge of the products Stuart gets involved in supporting Service Engineers out in the field especially on bespoke units. He also assists the projects teams with diagnosing remedial repairs and selecting replacement products. Alongside technical training for other departments, onsite and remote customer training, he also liaises with suppliers, keeps up to date with new market developments and has sat on Industry Standards Committees.
This leads on to the sales and marketing of Aquatech Pressmain products where works closely with the internal and external sales team to provide pre-sale technical support. He is also part of the Marketing Team, who meet monthly helping to produce marketing tools by editing and writing technical sales literature and involved with factory tours when customers are invited to site.
Stuart also oversees all aspects of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) sales where he develops, quote and manages a range of customer branded products for other pump manufacturers.
