New bespoke high temperature hot water (HTHW) pressurisation system produced by the Aquatech Pressmain for Carlsberg replaces older model. The previous set has been in service for 20 years, so with 20 years of 24/7/365 capability and reliability, Carlsberg naturally approached Aquatech Pressmain to design, build and install a next generation unit, specially designed to meet the present and future requirements of their Northampton brewery, one of the largest in Europe.

The design department took the brief and met all the challenges, designing a ground-breaking Aquatech Pressmain pressurisation unit that could maintain constant pressure in the HTHW system operating at 170°C, the temperature required for the Carlsberg production process. The unit also uses innovative new methods, to cool the system water, allowing it to be stored safely and efficiently in the custom stainless steel spill tanks. To ensure maximum life of the unit, the majority of the unit is manufactured from welded 304 stainless steel, and because the brewery is in continuous operation, the unit is fully serviceable with double block and bleed isolation for all parts of the unit.

Built at the Aquatech Pressmain factory in Copford, Essex, the whole unit and tanks were installed by AGM Service Engineers with a full telemetry system built in, which is monitored 24/7 at Head Office.
Servicing and maintenance will be carried out by AGM Service Engineers, giving Carlsberg peace of mind and continuing this relationship of trust and respect built up over 20 years.
